The Hunt for Red October

... was the debut novel of Tom Clancy, and it introduced readers to the naval history professor, and former US Marine and stockbroker, Jack Ryan. It was filmed in 1990, starring Alec Baldwin as Ryan and Sean Connery as Captain Ramius.

I may be doing the question setter a disservice (again), but one has to wonder if they've actually read the novel or if they've just seen the film.

The same comment applies to question 60, but it's less important in that case because we're told the title of the novel.

My point is that however many copies the book sold, millions more will have seen the film; I suspect therefore that for most people, this question is about the film rather than the novel.
